The Effimero Duo is an ensemble created by Marta Sikora, a Polish violinist and Itamar Prag, an Israeli pianist. Sikora began her musical studies in Poland at the age of 7 and has worked with such teachers as Arkadiusz Kubica, Bartosz Bryła, Bartek Nizioł, Eyal and Yair Kless, Wanda Wiłkomirska, Leonidas Kavakos, Kati Debretzeni and Gil Shaham. She is currently studying for her Master’s degree at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel-Aviv University under professors Eyal and Yair Kless. She has been a member of the Gertler Quartet for two years, with which she appeared at the Musethica Chamber Music Festival in Zaragoza. She has also received the First Prize at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Chamber Competition, which resulted in a series of concerts around Israel. She has performed as a member of Israeli orchestras, such as the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra.

Prag began his music education when he was 9 years old at the Givatayim Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Ms Hana Shalgi. He continued his musical studies at the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts and served in the Israel Defence Forces with an Outstanding Musician status. He has recently won an audition held by Maestro Zubin Mehta and performed in January under the baton of Maestro Yoel Levi with the BMSM Symphony Orchestras. He has also performed as a soloist with the leading Israeli orchestras, including the Israel Symphony Orchestra - Rishon Lezion, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. He has won the Third Prize at the Eighteenth Illzach International Chamber Music Competition and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Chamber Competition. He has also won several prizes at solo piano competitions in Israel and overseas. As the Effimero Duo, Marta Sikora and Itamar Prag have performed in recitals around Israel, including performances at the Clairmont Concert Hall in Tel Aviv, the Ein Harod Museum and the Pais Institute in Eshkol and Netanya.
