Ãtma Quartet

Dominika Szczypka – cello

Comprising graduates of Polish academies of music, the quartet was formed in 2016 as the New Music Quartet (the name was changed after two years). The ensemble won the First Prize and three special prizes at the Karol Szymanowski International String Quartet Competition in Katowice in 2017, the Förderpreis and the Bärenreiter Urtext Preis at the International Chamber Music Competition ‘Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne’ in Graz in 2018 and the Third Prize at the Karol Szymanowski International Competition in Katowice in 2018.

The Ãtma Quartet have been invited to festivals in Switzerland, France, the Netherlands , Spain and Poland. Since 2018, the quartet have taken part in a project called Le Dimore del Quartetto, which popularises Polish music in Italy, and in the French programme ProQuartet.
