The names of the winners of the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition

The results of the Competition’s Category I – pianists and Category II – chamber ensembles were officially announced at the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic Hall in Rzeszów on Thursday 26 September.

The Jury of Category I – pianists headed by Jarosław Drzewiecki awarded the following main prizes:

First Prize – 20,000 euros - Pavel Dombrovsky (Russia)

Second Prize – 10,000 euros - Piotr Ryszard Pawlak (Poland)

Third Prize – 5,000 euros - Mateusz Krzyżowski (Poland)

 

There were also three equivalent honourable mentions worth 1500 euros each:

Ivan Shemchuk (Ukraine)

Tymoteusz Bies (Poland)

Michał Dziewior (Poland)

 

The Jury of Category II – chamber ensembles headed by Andrzej Tatarski awarded the following main prizes:

First Prize – 20,000 euros - Gidaszewska/Łaguniak Duo (Poland)

Second Prize – 10,000 euros - Cracow Golden Quintet (Poland)

Second Prize – 10,000 euros - Ãtma Quartet (Poland)

Third Prize – 5,000 euros – not awarded

 

There were also three equivalent honourable mentions worth 1500 euros each:

Apeiron Trio (Poland)

Novi Piano Duo (Poland)

Roksana Kwaśnikowska / Łukasz Chrzęszczyk (Poland)

 

The prizes will be awarded during the Prize Winners Concert on 27 September at 7 p.m. at the Podkarpacka Philharmonic Hall. In the concert, the prize winners of the Competition will perform alongside the Symphony Orchestra of the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic in Rzeszów directed by Jerzy Salwarowski and Tomasz Chmiel. The Prize Winners Concert will be repeated on 29 September at 6 p.m. at the National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw.

The Competition is organised by the Institute of Music and Dance and co-organised by the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic in Rzeszów.

The first edition of the Competition has received the National Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda as part of the official celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of regaining Polish independence.

The Competition is funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and financially supported by the Local Government of Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
