Agata Habera – violin Paulina Woś-Gucik – violin Anna Wieczorek – viola Katarzyna Cichoń – cello The quartet is composed graduates of the Academy of Music in Kraków, Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the Bologna Conservatory. The ensemble inaugurated their activities in 2015 and have perfected their technique and skills ever since under the guidance of Sirkka-Liisa Kaakinen-Pilch at the Academy of Music in Kraków. They have also taken part in master classes conducted by Manfredo Kraemer. Quartetto Nero won the First Prize and a special prize at the competition held during the Second Early Music Chamber Forum in Poznań. The ensemble maintain a busy concert schedule in Poland and beyond. It has taken them to such events as the Kraków Bach Festival (in 2017), the International Guitar Festival in Modra, Slovakia (in 2017) and the Fringe concert series of the International Early Music Festival in Utrecht (in 2018). The artists focus their activities on finding the authentic sound of Baroque, Classical and Romantic music not only by performing on period instruments (historical or their faithful copies) but also by interpreting the music in accordance with historically-informed practices.
