He has graduated from the Feliks Nowowiejski Comprehensive Primary and Secondary School of Music in Gdańsk, where he studied piano with Waldemar Wojtal and organ with Hanna Dys. He is currently a student of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. The artist has won numerous national and international competitions, e.g. he was awarded the First Prize and a special prize for the best improvisation at the Eleventh International Chopin Competition in Darmstadt, the Second Prize at the International Chopin Competition in Budapest in 2018, the First Prize at the Third Leopold Godowski International Piano Competition for Young Virtuosos in Warsaw and the First Prize at the First International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists in Beijing. Pawlak has also been a multiple winner of scholarships from the Polish Children’s Fund, the Minister of National Education, the President of the Council of Ministers, the Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship and the President of the City of Gdańsk. In 2014, he received a scholarship sponsored by Krystian Zimerman. The artist has performed at a number of concert halls in Poland and abroad. As a soloist, he has appeared with such orchestras as the Lower Silesia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic Orchestra, the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra (Filharmonia Kameralna) in Sopot.
